"The Router Book" 
"The Router Book", an all color Taunton publication, is an appraisal of just how I view the router and its application. My first book of this type was written in 1995. A lot has changed since then, including my thinking.
This book is for all skill levels. There are chapters on the nature of routing and how to start up. Jigs, accessories and fixtures are addressed. Selecting a router and power range (plunge, trim or fixed base)for the best match of the 5 types of routing, (table, template, plunge, trim, and production), and managing the cutter pathway use up several chapters.
There are also chapters on the router table, the practicality and limitations of routing, a perspective on and the use of router bits, and there is a comprehensive treatment of risks, safety and the "unexpected"; the stuff omitted from most owner's manuals.
The last chapter, summarizes the making and use of the template, the key to unlocking the real power of the router. It is my hope that this chapter will be the foundation of my next book, "Templates and Woodworking".

Compilation of practical joinery solutions to ordinary and extraordinary connection problems in furniture. 31 articles. Money well spent.
"Router Projects and Techniques" (the Best of Fine Woodworking)
Remarkable router solutions to furniture joinery problems, routing techniques, routers, and commercial jigs. 32 articles with superb graphic and woodworking prose.
"Woodshop Jigs and Fixtures"
Routing is jigs and fixtures. Though this book applies itself to more than routers the concepts are transferable. A compendium of jig features and mechanisms.
"Portable Power Tools" (Time/Life)
Wonderful 35 page chapter on basic routing, excellent graphics, an excellent starter reference for the router, circ-saw, saber-saw, hand drill, plate joiner and sander.
"Tage Frid Teaches Woodworking, Book 1&2 -Joinery"
Although Mr. Frid and I are miles apart on methodology I believe this book to be of high value. Essentially saw, chisel and router work. Prolific number of joint options, applications and novel solultions to cutting.
